The Brazil national football team represents Brazil in international football and is controlled by the Brazilian Football Confederation. They are the most successful national football team in the history of the World Cup, with five championships in four different continents (1958 Sweden, 1962 Chile, 1970 Mexico, 1994 USA, 2002 S. Korea-Japan). A common quip about football is: "The English invented it, the Brazilians perfected it."[5] Currently ranked first by FIFA, Brazil is consistently among the strongest football nations by Elo Ratings, and has been marked as the strongest team of each decade since the 1960s. Brazil is the only team to have played in every World Cup.
On December 4, Brazil was drawn on group G, considered by many as the Group of Death. The Seleção will be playing their first match against Korea DPR on June 15, 2010, followed by Côte d'Ivoire on June 20, 2010, and in the last group match will face the Selecção das Quinas, Portugal on June 25, 2010.
On 4 December 2009, the World Cup 2010 draw put Korea DPR in a group with Brazil, Ivory Coast and Portugal.[15] This is North Korea's second World Cup finals, the first since 1966 where they reached the quarter-finals.
