USA vs Ghana live
2nd round match Fifa world Cup 2010
After an incredibly dramatic group stage that saw emotions shift from anger to sadness to joy at remarkable pace, the USA has qualified for the World Cup round of 16 and won Group C. The bad calls, poor finishing and all of the other problems for the Yanks were briefly forgotten when Landon Donovan sank that injury-time winner over Algeria. Now it’s on to the knockouts, to face an opponent that US fans will remember well – Ghana. It was the last match of their 2006 World Cup group when Ghana eliminated the USA on a late penalty from Steven Appiah. The Yanks will be out for revenge, as well as to prove that they can hang with the big boys on the biggest stage. Ghana has a whole different set of motivations. Despite not scoring a goal from open play in their three group matches, and coming into the tournament without their biggest star Michael Essien, the Black Stars enter this match as the last African team alive in Africa’s World Cup. No pressure, guys. The Bafana Bafana fans and their vuvuzelas have moved on from their team’s elimination and put much of their support behind Ghana, so they will be very much the home side.
The World Cup 2010 being held in South Africa, from the 11th June untill the 11th July. The best football once every four years. Don’t miss the great action!

Players to Watch: For the United States it starts with Wednesday's hero, Landon Donovan, arguably the greatest American player of all-time. He'll need help, though, from the likes of Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore, the latter a key, physical presence in the U.S. attack. Keeper Tim Howard must be at his best as well, if the United States will be able to play on. Whether or not hulking defender Oguchi Onyewu returns to the lineup in front of Howard will be one of the more interesting subplots leading up to Saturday.
On the Ghanaian side remember the name Asamoah Gyan. He is the Black Stars' most dangerous striker and the only member of the squad to score thus far in the 2010 World Cup. Kevin Prince-Boateng is an aggressive player and has taken nine shots in three games -- if he sees an opportunity to strike, he could hurt the Americans. At the back keeper Richard Kingson has been strong enough thus far, denying 10 shots and
